In York

Our first full day back in the UK we spent touring the York Minster (cathedral), the main attraction of the city, and just walking around, pleased to be back in this corner of the world, reacquainting ourselves with British life, culture, history, architecture, art, food, fashion, and so on. Imagine our joy in finding our first Marks and Spencer food hall!

Medieval shopping center; we loved all the old buildings in York

Oxfam! Books! In English too!

Constantine was visiting the troops in York when
he learned he had been made Emperor

Great used book tore we visited in 2009

Dinner at Khao San, excellent Thai

Yum, Tom

Bins of tea

Haute fashion

At Kathe Wohlfarht's: still selling Christmas
pyramids we bought in 1979 (in Rothenburg)

Not so haute fashion; crop tops apparently the thing
this spring

Meanwhile, back at the pub, England are beating Germany 2-0
in the Euro Cup tournament (proper English grammar)..."God Save
the Queen!" they sang afterward
