Chicago Grand Finale

We closed the museum at 5 and walked a bit of Michigan Avenue to the nearest Lou Mulnati's for dinner, another deep-dish experience, which is, by the way, not at all the doughy/soggy-bottomed mess you might think it is. I'm still going with the Naples thin crust and spare toppings (preferably anchovies), but definitely will do the deep dish thing whenever in Chicago. Anyhow, our final and grand Chicago finale was the special Christmas concert, "Merry, Merry Chicago!" presented that evening by the Chicago Symphony and Chorus, John Morris Russell, guest conductor...symphonic and choral arrangements of numerous seasonal favorites, including a Xmas sing-along, Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride, and the overture to Die Fledermaus. All very well worth braving the brutal Chicago wind and cold.

We got to our seats without supplemental oxygen, Vicki assuring me
all the way that it was not nearly as bad as the Opera Garnier...

Concluding ovation and the conclusion to two great weeks in Chicago, all thanks to Tawana and Wes
for the use of their condo!
