Walt Disney World, 2022: The Out-Takes, 2

Good eyes: Penelope spotted this small snake (non-animatronic)
while standing in line for the Haunted Mansion

Love Disney humor: here and below are Cinderella's
two nasty step-sisters...Anastasia and Drizella...

Playing their roles

Alas, didn't get her name, but perhaps the best Jungle Cruise
guide yet...I missed half the puns laughing at the preceding ones...
in a lull before landing, she called for volunteers, which Penelope
readily answered, getting a very decent laugh with her pun too

Except for Aerosmith, Tomorrowland Speedway was my most bruising ride

Vicki's non-alcoholic drink at Oga's Cantina; she
asked the bartender (who had a Brit accent) where
he was from: "Mika" "You?" "Montana" "Never
heard of it" spoken as a true cast member

But he did supply her with an extra serving of
the icky green bubble-tea-like objects from her drink

I won three out of four in the shoot-'em-up games

We all became very adept at spotting the Mickey in every setting

Smoking is prohibited in all the parks...but...
memories of Singapore...smokers will find a way,
or a place, often the merest cubby between
out of the way buildings

Walt Disney World, 2022: The Out-Takes, 1

Not 200 feet from our campsite at Fort Wilderness
was this sobering sign; "WDW Incidents" makes
for interesting if chilling reading on Wikipedia;
closely supervise your children; of course, the biggest
danger is that of being run-over by a golf cart in
Fort Wilderness

Rope-drop, first day, and we are there in Hollywood Studios (the
buses* start running at 6:30 AM), in line, 8:20; the couple in front
of us, with toddler in carriage, has discovered that beverages
are available, and the dad has just returned with a margarita and
a beer; this causes a sensation in the rest of the line: margaritas for
breakfast! breakfast of champions! It's going to be a great day!

Grill-master at the spaceport on Tatooine

So I studied this notice on almost every
ride, wondering whether pharmaceutically-
corrected hypertension was OK, if my
mal de debarquement syndrome might be a
problem...

Architectural shaming one day in Celebration, a WDW adjunct

Ditto

Ditto; except one of the main boulevards in Celebration
(not pictured) featured some of the most impressive arrays of
Deco-echo buildings, office and apartment, I have seen

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil, do no evil

Anne Boleyn [running gag]

Prayer flags, just like our from our Everest trek

The Thames...wait, no...the Seine...whatever...making us homesick

Even the leaf-rakers have been brain-washed

Double colonnade at the Art of Animation resort...Bernini would
have been impressed

At the World of Disney in Disney Springs: according to Google,
the largest of all Disney stores; merchandizing the magic has
been a staple of the Disness since the mid-1930s

COVID mask vending machine...now outlawed
by Gauleiter De Santis

Don't mess with The Mouse

In what we have always termed the Aryan Hall of Small World,
where everything goes white, and in English, too, the token Indian is
now joined by a cowboy; can't have Indians without Cowboys,
right?

*yes, buses: WDW is approximately 40 square miles, the size of Manhattan; Fort Wilderness is closest to the Magic Kingdom, across Bay Lake, but a few miles or so distant from the other parks, resorts, attractions, and shopping areas; in addition to the lines, one also spends considerable time on and waiting on buses, monorails, cable cars, etc.

Walt Disney World, 2022: Fireworks

We saw fireworks pretty much every night we were at WDW, even from the campground and the Fort Wilderness landing. The best views, of course, are in the Magic Kingdom and at EPCOT, where one gets to see the spectacular "Harmonious" show, a sound/light/color/water/fireworks show like no other. The first set of shots below are from Main Street, Magic Kingdom, the second from ringside seats on the lake at EPCOT, and the third, and best (IMHO), are from the Magic Kingdom, again, when Vicki persevered to the end, very close up, our last night there. Expert tip: fireworks are better when closer up. Within reason.
