Leaf-Peeping In The Northeast,1

After Acadia we turned our attention fully to the changing colors, tuning in to the various state and national leaf-peeping websites, seeking higher ground, and heading generally in the direction of New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and New York. Reports suggested the best fall color in ten years--coincidentally, our last leaf-peeping visit was in 2016--and we were not disappointed with 2026. This and the following couple of posts will be lighter on itinerary than on the color and pix themselves, but we'll add location information as we can reconstruct it.
