We stayed our first few nights in Brignole, between Marseille and Nice, up in the hills, refitting, repairing, de-jet-lagging. Further up, 20-30 miles or so, the torrential rain caused flooding on the evening of the 17th. 25 people died and there was major devastation everywhere. We drove through the area, the Var valley, a couple days later.

So glad that you were finally able to post. We read about the floods and knew that was close to where you were, so worried that your silence on the blog might have been caused by flood damage.
We had a wonderful time at the wedding and visiting with all of you. Cara was home for a week after we got back from California, then I spent last week in Dallas with the kiddos. Hugs to you both!
