Coastal Scenes, 2

Oregon...and then into California...

Another day, another low tide sea cave

Costal Scenes, 1

Coastal scenes are among our favorites, and the coasts of the Pacific northwest are among the world's best. We spent the next five days, September 18-22, driving the coast roads, stopping at most every site or viewpoint, staying overnight at a variety of casinos, state parks, and big boxes permitting parking. Washington, then Oregon...

Interesting how the pebbles become embedded in the driftwood

Rain Forest, Sort Of...

After Hurricane Ridge we returned to Port Townsend for an administrative day and then headed back into Olympic National Park. We'd done much of the Park in 2018, and on a later visit, and accordingly made quicker work of the rest of it on this trip, wanting to get to the coast and its scenery sooner than later. We spent the night of September 17th at the campground near the Hall of Mosses at Hoh.

But first we stopped at a salmon run overlook; click to enlarge and
you might see a salmon jumping...I couldn't, but you might...

All of the northwest is in a drought, so if you've ever wondered what
a rain forest looks like in a drought, pay close attention to this and the
following pix

We are out of the Park now temporarily...you can tell because all you can
see are "cut and run" stumps

Tripping hazards along the trail

Head-bonking hazards as well

Big tree; but most are not so big
